The brief

Libya's National Development Agency (NDA) appointed Tomorrow Global to supervise the delivery of the new Benghazi International Airport, one of the largest infrastructure projects on the African continent. The facility replaces ageing capacity with a purpose-designed international gateway: a 125,000 m² main terminal, a VIP terminal, a dedicated cargo centre, and a 3.8-kilometre runway (the longest in North Africa) on a 24 km² site.

The terminal is A380-capable and designed for an annual throughput of 15 million passengers. The contractor is Global Builders Company, a subsidiary of Terminals Holding, Abu Dhabi. Tomorrow Global's role is delivery supervision on behalf of the NDA: holding the programme, the consultant and contractor interfaces, and the quality controls across the full scope.
