Twin residential towers on Dubai's Bluewaters Island
Reza Rasi led the architectural coordination of this project as Associate Principal at Woods Bagot. This is work completed before Reza joined tomorrow as Design Director.
Two towers -- 50 and 40 storeys -- delivering 678 apartments on Bluewaters Island for Meraas. They share a podium with retail and amenity, and they connect into the island's existing pedestrian network and district infrastructure. Bluewaters is a completed master plan, so everything from the structural grid to the facade had to fit within what was already built and approved.
Tower massing studied against view corridors, structural efficiency, and how the two buildings sit together visually. Unit mix optimised across both towers.
Two tower heights on one podium. Transfer structures between residential plates above and retail/parking below. Foundations designed for island ground conditions.
District cooling from the island's central plant. Vertical risers and horizontal distribution across 50 and 40 floors. Backup power and life safety.
Civil defence, Dubai Municipality, DCD, and Meraas design review. All authority requirements folded into one compliant design. Both towers delivered within the island master plan constraints.
